Liverpool Rummy — Terms of Service (DRAFT)
Effective date: [date]
Operator: [legal entity name], [address] ("we", "us"). Contact: [support email].
1. Agreement
By creating an account or playing Liverpool Rummy (the "Service"), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least [13 / 16] years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
3. Your account
- You can sign in with email, Apple, Google, or Facebook. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Choose a nickname that is not offensive, misleading, or impersonating anyone, including staff or bots. Nicknames that break these rules may be refused, changed by us, or reserved.
- One person, one account, unless we allow otherwise. [Decide.]
4. The game
- Liverpool Rummy is a free card game played four to a table, with other players, bots, or both.
- The server decides every outcome. Games have no time limits; a game may wait for a player indefinitely.
- If you leave a game in progress, the remaining players vote on whether a bot takes your seat. Leaving counts as a loss in your statistics.
- We may end games, for example a lobby that does not fill within 15 minutes, or a game staff terminate for a rules or safety reason. Statistics are not recorded for games ended that way.
- There is no chat. The only way to interact with other players is through the game itself, friend requests, invites, nudges, blocks, and reports.
- The Service has no real-money play, prizes, wagering, or virtual currency.
5. Rules of conduct
You agree not to:
- cheat, including using bots, scripts, or any tool to play for you or to gain hidden information;
- exploit bugs (please report them to [support email]);
- collude with other players to manipulate games or statistics;
- harass other players, including through nicknames, repeated invites or nudges, or false reports;
- try to access accounts, data, or systems you are not allowed to, or interfere with the Service (for example by overloading it);
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it.
6. Moderation and enforcement
We may review reports, change offensive nicknames, and suspend, ban, or delete accounts that break these terms, with or without notice where the law allows. Every staff action is logged. If you think we made a mistake, contact [support email].
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may end your access as described in section 6. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example 9–12) continue after your account ends.
8. The Service and changes
The Service is provided during a beta. Features may change or be removed, and the Service may be unavailable at times. We may change these terms; if a change is significant we will tell you in the app, and continuing to use the Service means you accept the new terms.
9. Ownership
We own the Service, including the app, card art, and other content we provide. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for playing the game. Sound effects are third-party works licensed CC0. Fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. [Lawyer to adapt to applicable consumer law.]
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to [the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or USD 50]. [Lawyer to adapt.]
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [state/country]. [Dispute resolution: courts of [venue] / arbitration — decide with a lawyer.]
13. App stores
If you got the app from Apple's App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply. The store is not responsible for the Service or for support. For iPhone users, Apple's standard end-user licence terms apply where these terms do not cover something. [Lawyer to confirm the Apple-required clauses.]
